The McQueeney Supportive Housing Program is a collaboration of the Housing Authority of New Haven and Continuum of Care Inc.

McQueeney is funded in part by PILOTS (Planning and Implementing Housing Options for Long Term Success) through funding made available by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the Housing Authority of New Haven.

McQueeney serves 30 individuals who are homeless or at risk of being homeless and who have either a dual diagnosis of Mental illness and substance abuse, or a history of substance abuse with at least a year in treatment.


Services include supportive housing, case management services, daily living skills training, crisis intervention, medication supervision, assistance with transportation, and recreational activities. Client programming includes traditional 12-step groups and substance abuse prevention.

Case managers meet with clients weekly to provide assistance in activities of daily living, money management, medical transportation, entitlements, housing issues, therapeutic recreational groups and activities, and individualized clinical treatment planning. The daily structure includes participation in meditation groups, dual diagnosis groups, behavioral management, substance abuse prevention, and 12 step meetings.

The McQueeney Supportive Services Program offers many organized social activities that include community involvement, men's and women's motivational groups, weekend programming , outings and day trips.


McQueeney is a Housing Authority of New Haven facility. In order to be accepted into the program, clients must be on the McQueeney Housing list.
